Beauty Editorial Internship

Mostly Sugar Media is seeking enthusiastic, beauty-savvy individuals to join our team as Beauty Editorial Interns for Winter/Spring 2025. This unpaid internship, eligible for college credit, offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of digital media while building your portfolio and sharpening your editorial skills.

What You’ll Gain

As a Beauty Editorial Intern, you’ll:

  • Assist in creating engaging beauty content, from skincare tips to makeup trends.

  • Conduct trend research, collaborate on editorial planning, and help bring creative beauty stories to life.

  • Learn the ins and outs of beauty journalism while contributing to content that inspires and empowers women.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Write, edit, and proofread beauty-focused articles, blogs, and features.

  • Trend Research: Monitor the latest beauty trends, products, and industry news to pitch and develop fresh ideas.

  • Product Coordination: Assist in managing beauty product samples for photoshoots, reviews, or editorial features.

  • Photoshoot Assistance: Help coordinate and execute editorial beauty shoots, including sourcing props and organizing schedules.

  • Social Media Support: Create beauty-related content and captions for social platforms, ensuring alignment with Mostly Sugar’s brand voice.

  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain editorial calendars, fact-check articles, and organize digital archives.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Current enrollment in a degree program in Journalism, Communications, Beauty Marketing, or a related field.

  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with a passion for beauty and attention to detail.

  • Strong research and interviewing abilities to gather insights from reliable sources and industry professionals.

  • Familiarity with AP style guidelines and the ability to adapt writing to Mostly Sugar’s bold and creative tone.

  • Knowledge of current beauty trends, top influencers, and must-know products.

  • Proficiency in conducting online research and utilizing diverse sources for content development.

  • The ability to manage deadlines, juggle multiple tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • A positive attitude, curiosity, and a desire to grow as a beauty writer and editor.

  • Bonus: Basic knowledge of SEO principles.
