Mostly Sugar Media is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Beauty News Reporter Intern to join our team. This unpaid internship provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the beauty industry, specifically in news reporting, within our vibrant media company. As a Beauty News Reporter Intern, you will contribute to our beauty coverage, conduct interviews with industry professionals, and create engaging content for our audience. This internship is eligible for college internship credit.
Responsibilities:
Research, pitch, and write captivating news articles and features on the latest trends, product launches, events, and stories in the beauty industry.
Conduct interviews with beauty brand founders, makeup artists, skincare experts, and influencers to gather insights and quotes for your articles.
Stay updated with the latest beauty news, including new product releases, industry developments, emerging brands, and beauty events.
Collaborate with the editorial team to brainstorm innovative story ideas that resonate with our target audience.
Contribute to content planning and assist in generating creative concepts for beauty-related multimedia projects.
Fact-check, proofread, and edit content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Mostly Sugar's editorial style.
Incorporate relevant keywords and meta tags to optimize articles for search engines (SEO).
Engage with our online community, respond to comments, and participate in discussions related to your articles.
Embrace feedback and guidance from the editorial team to enhance your writing skills and storytelling abilities.
Requirements:
Currently pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, Beauty, or a related field.
Excellent writing skills with a keen eye for detail and a passion for the beauty industry.
Strong research and interviewing abilities to gather information from reputable sources and industry experts.
Familiarity with AP style guidelines and the ability to adapt writing style to match Mostly Sugar's editorial tone.
Up-to-date knowledge of current beauty trends, products, brands, influencers, and industry events.
Proficiency in conducting online research and utilizing various sources to gather information.
Ability to manage deadlines, juggle multiple assignments, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude, creativity, and a desire to learn and grow as a beauty news reporter.
Basic knowledge of SEO principles is a plus.
